
Brenda Schlesinger became a Nurse in 1978 and a Nurse Practitioner in 1981 while attaining her Master’s degree specializing in Gerontological Nursing. In 1990 she earned her CDCES and developed a diabetes education program for the Manhattan Veteran’s Medical Center.
She has taught at Boston University Medical School, George Washington School of Health Care Sciences, Northeastern University, and Hunter Bellevue. Most recently she taught diabetes education in conjunction with the State program through Northampton Community College, and Nursing and Med Tech courses at Bucks County Community College. She has been adjunct clinical faculty for Holy Family University in Gerontology.
Brenda founded American Diabetes Education, LLC in 2006, to provide broader outreach and certified care-giving skills to medical professionals and technicians working with diabetic patients. She is an Adult/Gerontological Nurse Practitioner and Certified Diabetes Educator, and has been providing Diabetes Education Certification classes in LTC facilities in Pennsylvania for 18 years.
